Rosslare town guide
Rosslare is Wexford's original holiday resort and a major ferry port. On the nearby peninsular fortifications were built in the seventeenth century, but abandoned in 1925 Nowadays, many of the visitors here are just passing through, off one of the many ferries, which run from Fishguard in South Wales.

By hire car it is only a short journey to visit the Tacumshane Windmill, one of Ireland's oldest working windmills, or the Irish Heritage Park. Wexford is also the ancestral home of J.F.Kennedy, and you can visit the birthplace of his great grandfather. There is a visitor centre, which gives a tour and audio-visual display.
On nearby Saltee Islands, two large granite outcrops, you can see seals and large colonies of seabirds.
Visit nearby Waterford, famous for its long glass making tradition. Waterford Crystal Visitors Centre guides you through the production of this famous crystal.
This lush area of forests, farmland and rivers is the perfect place to relax and unwind. The lively town of Kilkenny, with its medieval castle and monastery, and Dungarvan with its glacial mountains overlooking the sea are all easily explored from Rosslare.
