Malvern town guide
Set in the Malvern Hills in Worcestershire, Malvern stands on a terraced hillside. The town was first settled in the 11th. Century as a Benedictine Priory.
Pump rooms, baths and elegant residential hotels were developed, making this a fashionable town, following the discovery of the medicinal waters of the Malvern Wells. Few spas can match the beauty of these surroundings.
Today Malvern is the home of the Morgan Car Company, still building sports cars in the traditional way, with hand formed bodywork mounted on an Ash frame. These cars are the dream of many motoring enthusiasts. With their 1930's styling they retain the elegance of that earlier age.
Good walking is to be had in the hills behind the town as the area is so quiet and peaceful. The Malvern Hills and the Teme Valley provide an area so steeped in beautiful countryside that it is worth hiring a car to explore the surroundings.
